Top Tips For Teaching Yoga In Schools - Tip #2: Vision Your Dream Job
Hi,
Welcome back to the blog! I’ll be posting on Saturdays and Tuesdays for the time being, so make sure you subscribe to the blog to get the latest tips for teaching yoga in schools.
If you read my previous post, you spent some time getting clear on WHY you want to teach yoga in schools.
The next step in the process is using that why to create a clear vision for what your dream job teaching in schools looks like.
So, without further ado, here is Tip #2
Tip #2: Vision Your Dream Job
I have three simple keys to creating your vision for your dream job:
1. Ask yourself: “What are my skills? What makes me different from everyone else?”
In my case, it was the fact that I had a strong yoga practice and was already a yoga teacher. I was taking a yoga training at the time, and one of our tasks was to create a vision for our dream job, and actually write it down. So, I dreamed big. I wrote it down, posted it on my wall, and would sit and meditate in front of it on almost a daily basis for the better part of two years. I manifested the heck out of that.
2. Write your vision as if you’re already doing it! For example, instead of saying: “I will teach yoga to middle school girls after school” write, “I teach yoga to middle school girls after school.”
3. Be specific, but also be realistic. This is where step number 1 comes in. Know what you want to do, and the skills that you have. This will ensure that your vision is actually attainable!
Tip Takeaway: Get clear on your vision, write it down in the present tense, as if you’re already doing it, and then post it someplace prominent in your house, where you’ll be able to come back to it every day. Dream big, but be realistic and specific.
